Specialist police officers swooped on two suspects after a Mercedes van and £16,000 in cash were reported stolen from a local business in Bolton.

The burglary was reported from the business on Egerton Street in the Farnworth area on Monday (May 20). Officers in GMP's Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit were alerted.

They started to track the suspects' vehicle after the registration plate activated an Automictic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera in the area, police said.

Officers then tracked them, before swooping in and boxing in their vehicle. READ NEXT: 'Teenager hit by car' as police tape off main road after 'serious' crash Two men - aged in their 40s - were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
