A nurse who sacrificed time with her baby to join the battle against coronavirus has told of the on-going heartache on the NHS front line.
Ward sister Vicky Neville, 34, has written an open letter describing the agony of losing patients and calling their loved ones with the tragic news.
She says she spoke out to “open people’s eyes” to the impact of the virus. In her letter, the intensive care nurse tells of the final moments of a dad-of-two whose wife could not be at his side because she too had the virus.
The patient was a kind, friendly man who would always wave to the nurses and ask them how their day had been, before his condition deteriorated and he was placed on a ventilator. What are your thoughts on this story?
