The movie ruled the top of the box office for three weekends in a row and returned Warner Bros to the post-Labor Day horror launchpad they first made rich with the 2017 feature take of Stephen King’s It ($123.4M opening, $328.8M domestic B.O.).
The movie follows young Sister Irene’s (Taissa Farmiga) crusade against a sinister, evil Mother Superior spirit, aka Valak, who takes over the souls of people around her.
