Numitor to hit the high notes for opera-singing trainer Heather Main

NUMITOR is ripe to defend his unbeaten record over fences by racking up a hat-trick in the Elmbridge Handicap Chase (1.55) at Sandown Park.

Heather Main’s grey drew a blank in four tries over hurdles but got off the mark at the first time of asking over the larger obstacles when landing a novice handicap at Ffos Las at the end of November.

Put up 7lb as a result of that 14-length supremacy, Numitor, whose handler is a trained opera singer, reappeared in a similar event at Wincanton two weeks ago and followed up by six lengths from Jackson Hill.

There is another 8lb rise to deal with here, but Numitor holds entries in both the Arkle Trophy and Marsh Novices’ Chase and Tom Scudamore's mount can win off a British Horseracing Authority rating
