Two vehicles have been involved in a serious crash on the M8 near Whitburn which has sparked a huge emergency response. A number of people are believed to have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following the incident which occurred at around 9.50am this morning.
The M8 westbound at Junction 4 was closed entirely but has since been reopened, though drivers are still being asked to take alternative routes if possible.It is believed there are injuries as a result of the crash with a number of ambulances and multiple trauma teams in attendance.Traffic Scotland tweeted that vehicles on the route will be taken off at Junction 4 and rejoin at Junction 5.The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they have four pumps and a heavy
