The total number of coronavirus cases in the UK has risen to 798 in the last 24 hours. That number is up by 208 from 590 cases at the same time yesterday - the biggest leap in cases in a single day.
Nearly 33,000 tests for Covid-19 have now been carried out in the UK. A total of 10 people have died in the UK after contracting the virus.
The latest figures come after the government's chief scientific adviser said the true number of people with coronavirus in the UK is likely to be between 5,000 and 10,000.
Sir Patrick Vallance was speaking after prime minister Boris Johnson held an emergency Cobra meeting in London yesterday marking the start of the next phase of the government's coronavirus response - the delay phase.
