‘Northern Exposure’ actress Diane Delano dead at 67

TMZ was first to report the news. Delano passed away at her home in Los Angeles on Friday following a brief illness. Her official cause of death has not been released.

The actress played Sergeant Barbara Semanski on “Northern Exposure,” which ran from 1990 until 1995. She had numerous other TV credits including “Popular,” “Days of Our Lives,” “St.

Elsewhere,” “L.A. Law” “Perfect Strangers,” “Married…With Children,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Monk,” “NCIS,” “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “2 Broke Girls” and “Two and a Half Men.” In the movies, Delano was known for her roles in “The Wicker Man” (2006), starring Nicholas Cage, “Jeepers Creepers 2” (2003) and “The Ladykillers” (2003), opposite Tom Hanks.

Born on Jan. 29, 1957 in Los Angeles, she attended Canoga Park High School before graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AMDA) in 1980.
