A noose has been found in the garage stall of NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace - who branded it 'a despicable act of racism'. NASCAR officials say are they "outraged" by the incident, and have launched an investigation into how the noose came to be in Wallace's stall at the Talladega circuit in the southern state of Alabama on Sunday.
Two weeks ago, Wallace - who is the sport's only full-time African-American driver - successfully pushed for NASCAR to ban the contentious Confederate flag at its tracks and properties.
Wallace took to Instagram and Twitter to condemn the racist act, which can be interpreted as a reference to white supremacist hate group the Ku Klux Klan and comes amid the Black Lives Matter movement mounting widespread protests
