Confirming the bad news at the time, he said: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight.
People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer." Ever since that devastating day, Liam has teased fans that his "bags are packed" if his big brother wants to set their differences aside.
He's had a successful solo career – and Noel has also pursued other ventures. Noel, now releasing music with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, often insists to interviewers he has "no interest" in a reconciliation.
