Rail passengers are being braced for more travel chaos on Northern routes, as people plan their journeys to visit loved ones over Christmas.
The beleaguered rail operator, which was renationalised in March 2020, has warned that rail replacement bus services will be in place on Sunday across ten routes.
While trains will continue to run on other routes, they will be less frequent and the last train is expected to be earlier than usual.
On X, Northern said: "We advise customers to check their journey before travelling particularly in the North West. Due to conductor unavailability, there will be some cancellations and alterations to our timetable on Sunday.
