Areas of the borough which have previously managed to ‘suppress’ coronavirus have seen rises in case numbers. Three areas that were in that position three days ago now have increased case numbers.

According to data on the government’s interactive Covid-19 tracking map, areas with fewer than three new cases confirmed in the week ending June 4 have ‘suppressed’ the virus there – as things stand.

In the week ending May 19, 17 areas of Trafford were in this position, making up around two thirds of the borough. Less than two weeks later, it was down to eight areas.
