With the news that pro dancer Nikita Kuzmin, 26, might be heading in the Big Brother house for the celebrity series, fears are growing that he won’t be back for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Nikita has been a dancer on the BBC competition for just three years, having made his debut in 2021, and has performed with Tilly Ramsay, Paralympian Ellie Simmonds and more recently, actor Layton Williams - where they reached the final.
It’s been rumoured that Nikita will have been dropped from the show in order to join rival channel ITV1’s Celebrity Big Brother reboot.
But no one wants him to leave Strictly, including TV presenter Lorraine Kelly. During her show on Wednesday 28 February, Lorraine made her disappointment clear when discussing Strictly’s return as she said: “One of the big favourites might not be coming back.” Addressing the rumours that Nikita wouldn’t return because of his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother, Lorraine insisted: “He can do both!
