Now, Kidman has revealed that at one point, it was likely Australia could’ve been her final film role.Speaking to CBS News to promote her new film Babygirl, Kidman revealed that after giving birth to Sunday Rose in July 2008, she was on the brink of retiring from acting before she was persuaded by her mother not to quit her career.Kidman said, reflecting on wanting to focus on her family full-time: “When I gave birth to Sunday I was like, ‘Well, I think I’m pretty much done now’.
We were living on a farm, and that’s when my mother said, ‘I wouldn’t give up completely. Keep a finger sort of in it.’ And I’m like, ‘No, no.
I’m done now. I’m done.’ She’s going, ‘Just listen to me. Keep moving forward. Not saying that you have to do it to the level you’ve been doing it, but I wouldn’t give it up completely.’”A couple of months later, Kidman would begin filming for roles such as Nine and Rabbit Hole.
