Prince William and Kate Middleton's Royal tour which today kicked off in Scotland during lockdown. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Edinburgh Waverley station on Monday morning as they began their whistle-stop tour of the UK, aimed to thank frontline workers of the pandemic.
The royal couple are travelling 1,250 miles across England, Scotland and Wales on board the Royal Train as part of their three-day trip.
The First Minister said the Prince of Wales and Countess of Strathearn's visit up north was ‘a matter for the royal household’ after she was asked for clarity on the situation during Monday's daily briefing.It follows backlash on social media after people branded the trip unnecessary and claimed it would break cross-border.
