coronavirus restrictions will come into force across Scotland later today. The new measures will be put in place in a bid to halt the spread of the deadly virus that has killed thousands.
From 6pm tonight pubs and restaurants in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lanarkshire, Lothian, Forth Valley and Ayrshire and Arran will be forced to close until at least October 25.
Across the rest of the country tighter restrictions will be placed on venues with no alcohol to be served indoors.Bar opening times will also be limited.It comes as five more people died in Scotland over the last 24-hour period.1,027 tested positive for the deadly virus in the same period.In the central belt area adult contact sports, snooker and pool halls, casinos and bingo.
