Nicola Sturgeon comments on arrest as part of investigation into SNP finances

A spokesperson for Nicola Sturgeon has commented on her arrest as part of the investigation into the SNP's finances.The former First Minister was arrested on Sunday by Police Scotland.She is in custody and is being questioned by detectives.The 52-year-old confirmed that she had been arrested and said that she would co-operate with the investigation.A spokesperson for Nicola Sturgeon said: "Nicola Sturgeon has today, Sunday 11th June, by arrangement with Police Scotland, attended an interview where she was to be arrested and questioned in relation to Operation Branchform."Nicola has consistently said she would co-operate with the investigation if asked and continues to do so."The SNP said it could not comment as the investigation is ongoing but that it has been co-operating fully.An SNP spokesperson said: "These issues are subject to a live police investigation.
