Nicky Byrne reveals the major perk his kids enjoy having a dad in Westlife

It definitely pays to have a dad that works in showbiz if you want to impress your mates. Nicky Byrne has shared that his children, like him and his father Nicholas, have a great passion for music and his famous friends are keen to encourage them.

The Westlife singer revealed that a certain A-list musician sent his children a guitar while in lockdown at home last year and it even inspired him to learn the instrument. ‘I started to learn the guitar during lockdown and one of my kids plays the piano so he was trying to teach me that,’ he told the RTÉ Guide.

The A-lister in question was none other than Ed Sheeran, who sent a guitar for the kids. ‘If there’s ever a time to learn to play the guitar, it’s when Ed Sheeran sends you one,’ he said.
