Nicholas Pinnock (The Book of Clarence) has been set for the male lead in Peacock‘s limited series suspense thriller Long Bright River, Deadline has learned.
He’s set to star opposite Amanda Seyfried, who will also serve as executive producer. An adaptation of Liz Moore’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same name, Long Bright River tells the story of Mickey (Seyfried), a police officer who patrols a Philadelphia neighborhood hard-hit by the opioid crisis.
When a series of murders begins in the neighborhood, Mickey realizes that her personal history might be related to the case.
While Pinnock plays Truman Dawes, further character details are under wraps. The series hails from Sony Pictures Television and UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, Nikki Toscano (The Offer, Hunters) and Liz Moore will write and executive produce, with Toscano serving as showrunner.
