NHS chief issues warning over high street DIY antibody test kits

A top NHS official has warned people buying antibody tests from high street shops to not break lockdown rules.The DIY kit to tests for coronavirus can now be purchased from Superdrug for £69 and show if someone has been infected.But NHS medical director Professor Stephen Powis said it is not yet clear whether this means the person is immune and will not contract the deadly bug again.He has asked those who have bought the test not to change their behaviours during lockdown, Hull Live reports.It comes as Superdrug became the first high street retailer to offer a DIY kit to test for Covid-19 antibodies.Users need to take a finger prick blood sample at home which is sent off to an accredited laboratory for testing.At the daily Downing Street
