The SPFL have revealed the 2022-23 league season will begin on the weekend of July 30 and 31. The Scottish Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two are motoring towards an enthralling end to the campaign at present.
Three of the four divisions are locked in nail-biting title races with Kelty Hearts the only team to have been crowned champions in the fourth tier.
Celtic and Rangers are still battling it out, Kilmarnock and Arbroath remain locked in an enthralling race for the Championship and Cove Rangers are close to seeing off their challengers in League One But league bosses have been planning for next term with around the same start date as usual – and the fixtures are set to be released for every tier of the SPFL on June 17 at 9am.
This term there will be challenges aplenty when it comes to the fixture calendar because of the addition of the World Cup, taking place over November and December this year instead of its usual summer slot.
