Newport County have announced that they will be erecting a temporary stand for the FA Cup clash against Manchester United. Newport were confirmed as United’s opponents on Wednesday night as the League Two side came out as 3-1 winners over Eastleigh in their third-round replay.

The clash will see United travel to Rodney Parade on Sunday, 28 January with kick-off at 4:30pm. Following their progression, Newport announced that the stadium capacity will increase by 1000 to a total of 9000, due to the erection of a temporary stand which will be placed behind the North Terrace.

The stand will be in place for the weekend’s League Two clash against Wrexham and will stay until after the game against United.
