Newcastle have shortlisted Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson as a potential loan option before Monday's transfer deadline.
Henderson, 24, has been identified as one of a number of 11th-hour loans alongside United teammate Jesse Lingard but Newcastle can only loan in one player from another Premier League club.
Newcastle's attempt to sign Lingard last week faltered after United insisted on a survival bonus if the England international helped the 18th-placed Premier League side avoid relegation.
Henderson informed interim United manager Ralf Rangnick of his wish to leave on loan before the winter window opened but was blocked from doing so.
