Fans are getting a new look at the moment One Direction was formed. In honor of the boy band’s twelfth anniversary, The X Factor released footage of the moment Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne were selected to join the group. Click inside to read more… In the clip, judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh are seen going through headshots, with Nicole suggesting they use the photos to create an imaginary lineup. Niall‘s headshot is the first to be selected.

When Harry gets picked next, Nicole can be heard saying, “Oh, yes.” Louis is the third addition, with Louis Walsh remarking: “They look good together.” “The little girls are gonna love them,” Nicole says. “They’re just too talented to get rid of.

And they’ve got just the right look and the right charisma on stage. They’re, like, little stars. You can’t get rid of little stars, so you put them all together.” But the judges disagree when Liam‘s photo comes up, with Simon motioning that he should be in a separate pile and asking, “He was the standout audition.

You don’t think he should be over there?” “If he’s the standout, then he could be the leader,” Nicole replies, gesturing to the other headshots. “I think he would definitely shine.” Simon still doesn’t seem convinced, adding, “He thinks he’s better than anyone else in that list.” But once Liam‘s headshot joins the other three, he admits the lineup “looks good.” “That looks great,” Louis Walsh replies, while Nicole adds, “That looks unbelievable.” Louis Walsh also suggests they add Zayn, at which point Simon says, “Now that is a good idea.” Check out the full clip down below.
