With only three Broadway productions selling out last week, total grosses for the 29 shows was down about 7% from the previous week, settling in at $25,296,948.
Total attendance was 226,267 for the week ending September 22, a slip of about 4% from the previous week. The sell-outs, as usual, were Oh, Mary! (grossing $1,161,728, another house record at the Lyceum); The Outsiders ($1,320,127); and McNeal, starring Robert Downey Jr.
in his Broadway debut ($1,207,420). Stereophonic came close with attendance at 99% of capacity ($837,441).
Mia Farrow was back at the Booth after a week out due to Covid, resuming her place opposite Patti LuPone in The Roommate.
