After the first promo for this week’s Season 50 premiere episode of Saturday Night Live leaned heavily into nostalgia, clips released today teased more topical subject matter.
The first of three 30-ish second snippets contained in a video newly shared to YouTube featured the typical triptych of host (Jean Smart), musical guest (Jelly Roll) and a castmember (Marcello Hernández).
The final two vignettes, however, featured a former SNL castmember whose work has again become very topical: Maya Rudolph. Watch below. In July, Deadline confirmed that Rudolph will reprise her Emmy-winning take on the VP tas the NBC late-night comedy program covers the final stretch of the 2024 Presidential campaign.
