New restaurant and bar plan for Ayrshire town is given the green light

Plans for a near 100-cover restaurant and bar offering on Prestwick Main Street have been given the go-ahead.A planning application had previously been submitted seeking a change of use to the former church hall, on the town’s Main Street.

Agents in the proposals were JKM Consultancy and the applicant was Mrs Asma Ahmed.Weeks after the initial application, the proposals for Bute Hall were withdrawn, then resubmitted, because details of the external flue “required to be shown.”In a supporting statement the agents said the proposals, for Bute Hall, would “help provide a boost to the local economy.”An extract from their statement said: “The proposed development will enable a currently vacant existing building to be brought back into use and therefore to become economically viable.
