EXCLUSIVE: New Line Cinema has bought the feature pitch Big Time Abroad from screenwriters Scarlett Bermingham & Andrew Rhymer to be produced by Party Over Here.
We hear it sold in the mid-high six figures. Whle the storyline is under wraps, the pitch is being billed as Booksmart crossed with Indiana Jones.
Bermingham and Rhymer, who are also married, are currently adapting the children’s book The Paper Bag Princess for Universal with Luckychap, Brownstone, and Clubhouse producing.
Bermingham’s feature Mimi was on the 2021 Blacklist. Rhymer’s debut feature Plus One, which he co-directed with Jeff Chan, premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival where it won the audience award.
