A programme of works to install new lifts for properties at four towers in Muirhouse has finally been completed - six months after the initial target date for this to have taken place.The replacement of the odd numbered lifts at Merryton, Dalziel, Shields and Grange Towers commenced in March last year and with an anticipated completion date of June 28.However, significant delays were experienced with the progress of the odd lift replacement project and this has been attributed to the impact of wider supply chain problems in the construction industry, caused by COVID.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Councillor Wilson told Lanarkshire Live : “The length of time it has taken for the completion of this vital work has been hugely frustrating. "It is disappointing the lifts for the odd numbered properties were unavailable to residents for the majority of the last year when they were only meant to be out of service for a couple of months."The odd
