Plans to build eight affordable apartments in the ‘neglected and unsightly’ garden of a bungalow next to the M60 have been submitted to Trafford’s planners.

Snowdon and Developments Ltd and Jigsaw Homes North have tabled the application for the property on Shetland Way in Davyhulme.

The street was part of a wider estate built by Wimpey Homes in the 1960s. But ‘amenity space’ belonging to one of the houses - a semi-detatched dormer bungalow - has ‘not been well maintained’ and has been used for storage of materials and cars.

Developers now want to create the eight apartments which will be marketed via the rent-to-buy scheme and will be managed by a registered housing provider.
