Plans for a new £20 million leisure and community hub in Stockport took a step closer to becoming reality this week. The council has confirmed that it will submit a planning application for the work after holding a public consultation.
The planned site in Marple could have a five-lane swimming pool, as well as a fitness suite, library, and community rooms all under one roof.
Money for the project was given to the local authority last year from Levelling Up funding, but a previous bid for the project was rejected by the government.
