'Never been so insulted' - Patients FUMING at GP surgery after receiving text for 'weight management group'

Patients at a GP surgery in Bury said they felt 'victimised' after they received a text asking if they would like to be referred to a 'weight management group'.

One patient at the Ramsbottom Group Practice shared a screenshot of the text on Facebook - in an effort to reassure other people that they weren't alone in receiving the message.

The text said: "Would you like a referral to weight management group? Please complete the form below. You can now walk in for height and weight." "How dare they," she told the Manchester Evening News.

She said that to begin with, people at her work were keeping the message to themselves. "They thought they were deliberately targeted by the GP," she said. "It has upset lots of people." The text message dropped in her office at the same time for everyone.
