Netflix Unveils Premiere Date, Teaser, First-Look Photos For Tyler Perry’s ‘The Six Triple Eight’

Netflix on Wednesday morning announced that The Six Triple Eight, Tyler Perry‘s WWII drama starring Emmy winner Kerry Washington (Unprisoned), will be released in select theaters on December 6, debuting on the streamer on December 20.

The company also unveiled a teaser and a series of first-look stills, which you can view above and below. Based on Kevin M. Hymel’s article “Fighting A Two-Front War,” published in WWII History Magazine by Sovereign Media, The Six Triple Eight is inspired by the first and only Women’s Army Corps unit of color to serve overseas in WWII.

Despite facing racism and sexism — and grueling working conditions — they were committed to serving their country with honor and distinction.
