Netflix spy thriller Black Doves to return for second series

Politician’s wife, mother and professional spy Helen Webb will be returning to pass on more secrets to the organisation she works for in a second series of Netflix thriller series Black Doves, it has been announced.

Following the success of the first series, which dropped on the streaming service in early December, a second set of episodes has been commissioned and the two main stars, Keira Knightley, who plays Helen, and Ben Whishaw, who plays champagne drinking assassin Sam, are both confirmed to return.

To announce the new series, Netflix has released a video in which Keira and Ben meet up together in a bar decked out with Christmas decorations.

She greets him with “Merry Christmas,” and he says, “Hello darling.” She then raises her glass and says: “Here’s to Black Doves season one,” to which Ben replies: “Don’t forget season two, darling.” They both then open little red parcels, each of which contains a bullet that they drop into their champagne flutes.The clip ends with the words: “Black Doves season 2 is coming, darlings.” The first season followed Keira’s character Helen as she learned her former lover had been murdered.
