Charlie Brooker’s anthology series, Black Mirror, has been quietly working on its sixth series ready for release to hardcore fans today.
The show, which first aired in 2011, has already produced quite the next level and bizarre stories, from Miley Cyrus’ Ashley O AI doll in series five to the ‘Hang the DJ’ dating app ep in season four.
However, in the run-up to the season six drop, Charlie was drip feeding fans teasers of what they could expect. And in an interview with GQ, revealed that the new episodes will feature some of the “bleakest stories” they’ve ever produced.
During the chat, he explained that he delved back into the earlier Black Mirror archives to find new inspiration, adding that this season won’t be a “bed of roses.” In terms of how he approached the series, Charlie said that he switched things up from how he normally does things. “Whatever my assumptions are about Black Mirror, I'm going to throw them out and do something different'," he said.
