Netflix fans are obsessed with a hard-hitting Netflix drama which has a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. The limited series, which stars Margaret Qualley, premiered in October 2021 but climbed into the Netflix top 10 last year after gaining popularity on TikTok.
Despite this, some fans have only just started watching it. The Emmy-nominated drama, inspired by Stephanie Land's 2019 book Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother's Will to Survive, follows single mother Alex, who becomes a housecleaner to make ends meet.
She's in the midst of escaping an abusive relationship and overcoming homelessness to create a better life for her young daughter when she appears to hit a never-ending set of bumps in the road.
Qualley stars as Alex, while her real-life mum Andie MacDowell plays Paula Langley, her eccentric and unreliable on-screen mother.
