Just recently, many shoppers voiced their outrage over the staggering cost of a tub of Lurpak butter which had soared to almost £9 a tub.

As a result of the rising costs in the supermarket, many shoppers have been forced to find cheaper alternatives to some of their favourite products. One item that shoppers may now need to add to that ever-growing list is their morning cup of coffee, after a reporter from SurreyLive found that a jar of Nescafe Original had soared to £8.75 for a 300g jar in her local Co-op.To find out if the prices were different in their local area, one reporter from LancsLive headed out to their local Co-op to see if it was priced the same as the one in Surrey.Their local Co-op were also selling a 300g jar with the same whopping £8.75 price-tag.

After admitting that she was "stunned" by the jar of coffee rising to almost £10, she set off to see what other supermarkets in the area were charging for the same size jar.She found that Morrisons were charging £8 for 300g, which was just 75p less than Co-op's offering.Asda were pleasingly cheaper at £5 for a 300g jar, which was significantly cheaper than the Co-op and Morrisons.
