Neilston’s impressive start to their WoSFL First Division campaign continued with a thumping victory against Rossvale that fired them joint-top of the league. The Farmer’s Boys made light work of the visitors at the Brig O’Lea Stadium, notching three quick-fire goals in boiling conditions to almost have the three points wrapped up at half-time.Another strike in the second half put some gloss on the scoreline, with co-boss Chris Cameron delighted with how well his newly-promoted side have taken to life in the second tier.Cameron told Renfrewshire Live Sport: “It was an absolutely scorching day and we didn’t expect the tempo to stay very high for very long.“Thankfully we had the game pretty much sown up at half-time.“Dylan Henry got another couple of goals, with Cammy Haddow and Dylan Fletcher also getting one each.“We’re definitely pleased with this start.

The coaching staff set a target of 10 points from our first four games and we’re on track to manage that.“We’ve played a couple of the best teams in the division already, so it’s been a positive start that we’re hoping to carry on as long as possible.“We’re taking it game by game and not getting too far ahead of ourselves.

We’ll see where that takes us, we’ve certainly not set any long-term targets yet.”Cameron is expecting this coming weekend’s clash with Renfrewshire rivals Johnstone Burgh to be their toughest challenge of the season so far.He hopes the familiarity between the two sets of players, many of which are long-term pals, will see the Farmer’s Boys even more determined to keep up their brilliant start.Cameron said: “Burgh are a good young side with loads of energy.“They have more of a possession-based style than us, so it will be an interesting game for sure.“
