Neil Young has shared the first trailer for his forthcoming documentary Coastal.The project was shot and directed by filmmaker and Young’s wife Daryl Hannah, and will be screened in cinemas for one night only worldwide on April 17.
You can purchase tickets here.It is a personal, behind-the-scenes documentary which followed Young during his 2023 tour dates and gives “an up-close and intimate view into the life of one of history’s most iconic songwriters and musicians”.

Deeply devoted to his musical muse, which at times presented a challenge in capturing the songs, as we never knew what he might play or what instruments he’d pick up next.“But what we were able to capture has an unpretentious magic that reveals the truth, sentiment and emotions in these hidden gems as well as a close up look at a performer who plays from the heart with a total lack of pretence.”To accompany the film, a live soundtrack was also recently announced for release on April 18.
