Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Neil Lennon reckons the Hoops' Europa League group for 2020/21 is "sexy". And he insists his side's past flirtations with Lazio and Rennes will stand the club in good stead as they take on some fellow big names from Serie A and Ligue 1.

This time it's AC Milan and Lille that will visit Parkhead in Group H of UEFA's second-tier competition, with Czech outfit Sparta Prague rounding off the section.

It's a group that arguably wouldn't look out of place in the Champions League. And Lennon hopes even some of the coming glamour ties will be played in front of a crowd after the European governing body said games can be attended with 30 per cent capacity, though the Scottish Government will have the final say.
