Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Neil Lennon’s second time in charge of Celtic is over.It was termed a "resignation" in the announcement to the stock exchange this morning but whatever way the club billed it, Lennon has been on his last legs for much of their nightmare season.The beleaguered and bruised 49-year-old wanted nothing more than to deliver 10 In A Row but a lengthy series of appalling results meant he could no longer continue.There will be many who later label him a legend, a Celtic man through and through.

For others, though, losing 10 in a row is simply too much to stomach.The defeat against Ross County was the final straw as John Kennedy gets set to take over on an interim basis until the end of the season.
