Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Neil Lennon faces Jeremie Frimpong Celtic sweat as he shares 'ligament damage' fears

Jeremie Frimpong may have sustained ligament damage.The 20-year-old was left in agony after being decked by Motherwell’s Devante Cole during his side’s win at Fir Park.Frimpong tried to continue, but was forced off before the end and later hobbled out the stadium.Home manager Stephen Robinson insisted there was no malice in the tackle, but counterpart Lennon has revealed it may have left some lasting damage.He said: “I didn’t get a good view of it because Jerry’s back was to me, but I saw the replay and he (Cole) is high and late.“He (Frimpong) is in a lot of discomfort at the minute.

It could be ligament damage, we don’t know yet. We will have to assess him over the next couple of days.”“I don’t know if it is ligament damage yet.
