Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.
Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.
Celtic become history Bhoys in May. With a first-ever 10 In A Row on the line this season the Hoops are desperate to steal a march on their arch rivals.
Lennon’s side are currently a point behind leaders Rangers but with a game in hand. And, asked if the result of Saturday’s lunchtime blockbuster would give an indication of where the title was heading, Lennon told Sky Sports: “It’s way too early.“We had this conversation after we won at Ibrox last year and then after we lost at Celtic Park in December and it didn’t pan out the way people predicted.“So, no.
We are on a good run and want to maintain that consistency.“I want to get all my players back fit because we have a real heavy block of games coming up.
