Neil Doncaster says the SPFL will go as far as they can to help Rangers out of their Ibrox mess – but dodged the question when asked if they could face sanctions.

Rangers will have to temporarily relocate for two of their Premiership fixtures with their home ground out of action for August due to delays on renovation works. Record Sport confirmed on Wednesday that reversing the fixtures and fulfilling more home fixtures later in the calendar was not an option, with talks set to commence with the SPFL and SFA over a new venue after the fixtures were announced. Those formal talks can now commence with Philippe Clement's team set to open their campaign away to Hearts, before back-to-back 'home' games with Motherwell and Ross County on Saturday August 10 and 24.

The situation is up in the air and SPFL supremo Doncaster appeared on Sky Sports on Thursday morning to discuss the fixtures.High on the agenda was Rangers' situation and he was asked what 'contingencies' are in place, and if the club 'face any sanctions.' But Doncaster dodged the latter question as he responded: "Unfortunately these things happen.

I used to run a club and we had to build a stand, and worked very close with the league to make sure our fixtures went ahead with only three parts of the ground available."Now that the fixtures are out, we'll be liaising with Rangers.
