Following the news of actor Troy Beckwith's death, his family have spoken out to share that he passed following a battle with cancer.

It has also been confirmed that Troy, who was best known for starring in Neighbours as Michael Martin from 1992 to 1998, will not be having a funeral, as this was his wish. "The family would like everyone to know that Troy fought a tough battle with cancer,' said relative Shane Beckwith on Monday, 29 January, as he addressed rumours about Troy's cause of death.

His sister, Juanita Sanger, initially announced the heart-breaking news via a social media post, as she wrote: "Troy we will always remember that most mischievous, contagious laugh.

Everyone loved you. "Boy did we have fun growing up. A free spirit that couldn’t be held down. And the stories…we could write a book!

When a film or TV show that features AFM musicians makes it to a secondary market — airing on broadcast or cable, released on home video, or even transitioning to a streaming service — that triggers a residual payment to actors, writers, directors and craftspeople, essentially sharing in the profits of a successful project. But the studios have steadfastly resisted granting musicians a residual payment for original series, movies and other programs that are made specifically for streaming services.
