Furious locals living near Rivington were kept awake until the early hours of the morning by an 'absolute racket' as 200 attended an illegal drum and bass rave.
Lancashire Police said 'loud music, lights, lasers and drones' wreaked havoc on the beauty spot beside the reservoir, as residents living close by reported hearing loud music blasting from midnight to 2am.
Officers were called out to Liverpool Castle in Rivington, near Horwich, at 1.18am on Sunday (October 27). They arrived to find a huge rave, rammed full of attendees and complete with strobe lighting and speaker systems. On social media, one woman commented: "Omg! Will someone make it stop! Being a woman of a certain age i usually have the bedroom window open at night, even with it closed I can still hear and feel it booming away....
