Naya Rivera's family settles wrongful death lawsuit over her drowning

drowning death of Naya Rivera has settled. In November 2020, the "Glee" star's ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey, filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of their 6-year-old son, Josey, who was with his mother when she drowned in California's Lake Piru in July 2020.

"Though the tragic loss of Josey's mother can never truly be overcome, we are very pleased that the monetary settlement will significantly assist Josey with his life beyond this tragedy."Ryan raises Josey with the help of Naya's sister.In his lawsuit, Ryan argued in court papers, "[The boat] was not equipped with a safely accessible ladder, adequate rope, an anchor, a radio or any security mechanisms to prevent swimmers from being separated from their boats.
