As the protests over George Floyd's death at the hands of police continue throughout the country, artists and influencers are stepping up to fund various initiatives that help the protesters, the cause, and the black community at large.
One initiative that has proved to be particularly popular is a GoFundMe campaign called the Homeless Black Trans Women Fund created by Jesse Pratt López.
The campaign was started in December as a means of helping a community of homeless trans women in Atlanta. Since the beginning of the protests, though, the campaign has seen a massive influx of support, now with more than $850,000 and closing in on their goal of $1 million to redistribute to transgender housing shelters throughout Atlanta.
