Steph McGovern’s life had already been turned upside – even before the coronavirus outbreak brought the nation to a standstill.

In the last few months she has given birth to her daughter, quit the BBC and relocated to Yorkshire. And just as she is beginning to get used to all that her new daytime show for Channel 4 will air for the first time tomorrow – from her own living room.

Former BBC Breakfast star Steph, 37, who has been on her “hands and knees scrubbing things” before inviting the nation into her home, admits the whole prospect is terrifying.
