A man whose mum's body was found in the funeral directors at the centre of a police probe has said her hospital tag was still on seven weeks after she was supposedly cremated.

Martin Stone, 52, believed his mum Susan's body would be taken to be cremated following her funeral at the chapel inside Legacy Independent Funeral Directors around seven weeks ago.

However, he says he has now been told by Humberside Police that Susan has been identified as one of the bodies. The force launched an investigation last week following a report of concern for the dead and 35 bodies were recovered from the company's Hessle Road branch.

It is working with the National Crime Agency (NCA) to determine if what is believed to be human ashes is actually that, reports YorkshireLive.
