A murderer who killed a pensioner by repeatedly stabbing her in the neck with a pair of scissors in her own home has admitted battering a fellow prisoner with a snooker cue.
In a recreational area on the wing at HMP Shotts in Lanarkshire, Robert Buczek came to blows with Gary Ironside before the pair were separated by prison officers.
Buczek, 31, was seen to have repeatedly punched Ironside on the head and struck him with the cue, following a check of CCTV.
Ironside was left with a 2cm laceration on his head as result of the assault.Buczek, who was jailed for killing dementia sufferer Eleanor Whitelaw, 85, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted the assault in April 2018.He was handed a six month sentence by Sheriff Moira MacKenzie
